From the award winning director who brought us Slumdog Millionaire and Trainspotting, Danny Boyle has done it again with this week’s riveting adventure – 127 Hours. The movie is based on the true story of mountain climber Aron Ralston who was trapped in a cave in Utah for 5 days alone.
Ralston was played by James Franco, who did an unbelievable job with this role that had him front and center, the main feature, trapped in a dark cave for most of the movie. He captured the desperation, the mental anguish and the physical trauma that Ralston experienced trying to survive.
The soundtrack was great. The cinematography was beautiful – the story itself was filmed with a grainy, edgy style that reflected Ralston’s “live-on-the-edge” approach to his life. We were captivated for the duration of the film and though there are a few difficult scenes – because they are based in reality – were absolutely necessary and very well done.
A Rave Review loved this film and gave it a 4 out of 5.
